Renewal

Oregon Health Plan members need to keep their information up to date to stay covered. Usually, members are asked to renew their information once a year, depending on their eligibility. If you have Oregon Health Plan coverage, you will get a notice when it’s time to renew.

Reporting changes

Changes in your income or household size can make your health coverage cost more or less. You should report these changes to HealthCare.gov right away. Log in to your account at HealthCare.gov.

Tax time

If you got insurance through HealthCare.gov and used an advance premium tax credit (APTC) to lower your cost, you need to fill out certain forms when you do your taxes. These forms are important because if you don’t file them, you might not get financial help with your insurance in the future.

Renewing your coverage

Open enrollment is the time to update your information and pick a health plan for the new year. Open enrollment runs from Nov. 1 to Jan. 15.

If you had a Marketplace plan last year and didn’t take action, HealthCare.gov may have automatically signed you up for the same plan or a similar one. But your benefits or monthly cost may have changed. It’s best to actively shop and enroll to find the plan that works best for you and your budget.
