Health Insurance Marketplace Advisory Committee

Members

The advisory committee consists of 13 members appointed by the governor and confirmed by the Oregon Senate, representing insurers, insurance producers, navigators, health care providers, businesses, consumer advocacy groups, enrollees in health plans, and medical assistance agencies. The Department of Consumer and Business Services director and Oregon Health Authority director are ex-officio members. Committee members are appointed for a two-year term.

The committee is looking for new members!

The Governor's Office is seeking applications from private health insurance enrollees, consumer advocates, and representatives of Compact of Free Association (COFA) communities to fill vacant positions on the board that advises the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace.

The position is appointed by Gov. Kate Brown and confirmed by the Senate for a term of two years.

The committee advises the Marketplace, a division of the Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS), about outreach, customer feedback, and insurance plan affordability. The committee also develops policy recommendations at the request of the governor and DCBS. These functions are vital to the Marketplace, which helps Oregonians enroll in and use health insurance through HealthCare.gov and other programs.

Interested candidates must submit the following information to the Governor's Office by September 15, 2020:

Application packets may be mailed to Executive Appointments, Office of the Governor, 900 Court St. NE, Salem OR 97301-4075. Candidates can email their application materials to executive.appointments@oregon.gov.

People of diverse backgrounds and people from all areas of the state are encouraged to apply.

Members should be able to regularly attend committee meetings, contribute to policy discussions about the future of health care in Oregon, and spend one to two hours each month preparing for meetings, which are held in Salem on a Thursday in the months of January, April, June, October, and December.
