What to do at tax time

If you purchased an insurance plan through the Marketplace and received an advance premium tax credit (APTC) to lower the cost of your premiums, you must report the amount of tax credit you received when you file your federal income tax return.

The Marketplace will send IRS Form 1095-A (Health Insurance Marketplace Statement) to people who enrolled in a plan through the Marketplace. If you chose to only receive electronic notices, your 1095-A form will not be mailed to you. You can download the form from your HealthCare.gov account. Form 1095-A includes important information you will need to complete your tax return. Keep Form 1095-A for your records.

There's more information on health care and tax filing on the IRS website.
