Life is unpredictable and can feel uncertain, especially during a pandemic. The world seems to be in a constant state of change. It can feel like you have little control over your community, your friends, and your family. But there is one thing you can control: your health. Health insurance helps take the guess work and uncertainty out of your health. Here's how:
- All plans include a comprehensive set of 10 essential health benefits such as emergency services, mental health and substance use services, and prescription drug benefits. All of these services are covered at least 60 percent by your health plan, as long as you're visiting an in-network provider.
- Every plan available through the Marketplace includes a robust set of benefits called preventive services. These benefits include screening tests ordered by your doctor, which are free of charge as long as you're visiting and in-network facility or provider.
- Health plans provide detailed Summary of Benefits and Coverage (SBC) documents before enrolling. These documents are also available at any time upon request. The SBC helps you understand your out-of-pocket costs for services, treatments, and prescriptions.
- Health insurance companies cannot deny benefits or services based on pre-existing health conditions. They cannot cancel your coverage based on past or current health status or conditions.
Need help deciding which plan is best for you and your family? The Marketplace works with local experts called insurance agents and community partners. These experts do not charge to help you. Find local help by visiting OregonHealthCare.gov/GetHelp.
