Who’s saving money on health coverage?

Reports are in and people throughout Oregon are saving big bucks on their health coverage! Since the beginning of the COVID-19 special enrollment period, which started Feb. 15, 2021, 13,708 people have enrolled through the Marketplace through April 30, 2021.  Here are some other quick facts:

  • 7 out of 10 Oregonians are now qualifying for financial help
  • 15 percent of Oregonians are now enrolled in coverage for $10 or less per month

Starting July 1, people who qualify for or received at least one week of unemployment insurance benefits in 2021 will have any income above 133% of the federal poverty level set aside for the purposes of determining eligibility for financial help. This means anyone in this group – thousands more Oregonians – may be able to get a plan for around $1 per month with additional significant savings on out-of-pocket costs.

If you haven't taken a look at what additional savings you can get, stop by our window shopping site: OregonHealthCare.gov/WindowShop. The tool will be updated to reflect extra savings for unemployment insurance benefit recipients around July 1.
